ART VIENNA International Art Fair
“After the success of the first ART VIENNA in 2017, which was attended by 15,000 visitors at the Leopold Museum, we continue this successful project in a new location, the Hofburg Vienna. This concentrated space, accessible directly from Heldenplatz and situated in the heart of the city, offers an opportunity to focus and streamline ART VIENNA in terms of space and content. As a result, the event also features more art by younger artists.
Well-known exhibitors share the space with young galleries, and the fair also features an art project curated especially for the show: a group of young artists who have already won broad public attention will undertake a critical but also humorous examination of the history of Vienna’s Hofburg.
We would like to create a modern and contemporary impulse for Vienna’s art scene in the spring, attractive for an audience from all age groups and strata due to its broad range of artworks,” the director of ART VIENNA, Alexandra Graski-Hoffmann, explains.
ART VIENNA Reloaded
In February 2017, the first ART VIENNA proved to be a huge success. More than 15,000 visitors seized the chance to attend the premier with its successful mix of new and contemporary art, classic and modernist pieces, as well as design.
As such, the ART VIENNA event will be launched again in March 2019 at its new location in Hofburg, Vienna. With its lavish enfilades on the ground floor leading out onto Heldenplaz, these were the best established premises around. This is a highly attractive and central city centre location that will also ensure continuity for the future. The Vienna Hofburg has been an eminent partner for decades and has proven itself reliable in many other events by MAC Hoffmann.
This has created the perfect conditions for holding the second ART VIENNA event as an exciting gathering for new and modern national and international art, important contemporary styles and design from the turn-of-the-century to the present day, as well as art from international classical modernism - right in the centre of Vienna.
